This is one of our go-to dishes when the garden is full of ripe tomatoes and fresh basil is plentiful. The whole thing won’t take more than half an hour to make and is all you need for a delicious dinner alongside a nice glass of wine!

Fresh corn’s abundant in later summer, and it’s a perfect time to spice up corn on the cob. We like to grill corn for a change of pace, but you can also add the same spice to boiled, buttered corn if your grill is under repair.

This side calls for very small, white or red new potatoes. They’re steamed in butter and lemon juice until they’re fork tender and melt in your mouth. Especially good alongside fish of just about any stripe.

This is a perfect side dish or salad for late summer when real tomatoes are available in the garden or at farmer’s markets around the country. Fresh mozzarella is best; if you see any buffalo mozzarella, grab it because it’s light as a cloud and tastes like heaven.
