Pan-Asian Stir Fry with Shrimp

This recipe makes a quick, healthy dinner. You can adjust the heat to make it as spicy as you want, and substitute asparagus, mushrooms, or snow peas for the broccoli if you wish.

ingredients

  • 1 Large Sweet onion , chopped coarsely
  • 1 Red or Yellow bell pepper , cleaned and sliced in small chunks or strips
  • 1 Small bunch Broccoli , sliced in florets or pieces
  • 10 Large Raw shrimp , peeled and cleaned
  • 1 Clove Garlic , minced
  • Generous dash Soy sauce
  • Hot sesame or chili oil to coat the pan before cooking vegetables and shrimp

prep / directions

Coat the wok or stir fry pan with the hot sesame or chili oil. Sauté vegetables, stirring under medium heat until crisp tender, about 10 minutes. Add shrimp and garlic, stirring to mix well for another few minutes until the shrimp turn pink. Add enough soy sauce so the dish bubbles a few moments and then stir everything together a final time. Serve quickly while hot over Asian noodles or rice.
