Lightly combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Form meat into 2 individual paddies but don’t pack too tightly so meat will be juicy when cooked. Let stand a few minutes if possible, then grill or sauté in a pan on the stove to desired doneness (7 to 10 minutes per side). Let burgers sit for a few minutes before eating. These burgers are best if served with light toasted Kaiser-roll or larger than normal bun.
I couldn't make them fast enough at our last party. People loved the extra flavor and kept coming back for more. For the cheeseburgers I used either American or Swiss. It seemed to be a personal preference so probably best to have both on hand.
